We can measure an asteroid way out in space. Surely we can measure a person right in front of us. I am thinking of a system which could for example tell me that in this moment I am 5.455 cubic feet, something like weighing myself but in feet instead of in pounds using s digital camera.

Cheers!
Thanks caus, Obe man`s garbage is another man`s treasure.

Answer
Sure, any 3D scanner could tell you that, though it's useless information.

what are the latest technology or gadgets in the field of electrical engineering?

hello. i need some latest technology or gadgets that are being used in the field of electrical engineering. example is infrared thermal scanner which is being used in detecting problems in transmission lines. i am going to use it in my report in one of my subjects. thank you very much

Answer
well there are tons of them, just check adds and articles in trade journals (many are online).
there is tons of wireless products, for example wireless sensors for robotic cells:
robots are moving quite a bit and even best cables tend to break after while. this causes downtime, specially on inputs (sensors) because they are low power and if the problem is intermittent, this can take forever to isolate and fix. in manufacturing where stations are organizes in production lines, downtime at one station is disaster. solution is to have sensors that both receive power and send signals wirelessly (near field only). but there are so many others (3D cameras by Sick for example etc.).
