Answer
Try turning off some of the programs that you have running in the background, and check your computer for spyware or viruses that might be slowing it down.

If you have a virus scanner, run a full scan. If you don't have one, run a free scan from http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If you don't have any antispyware programs, download Spybot - Search and Destroy from the link below, and run a full scan.

Has anyone had a level 2 ultrasound? Can you explain?

Lis

NOT A 3D. Just a normal scan that is more detailed and they go through thoroughly looking for defects etc. and give you a better picture of what is going on with your child...I am just a bit nervous about an appt I have on Wednesday.

Answer
I'm assuming you mean the 20 week one? Here in UK we call that anomaly scan. The scan is a routine one offered to all pregnant women about 20 weeks into their pregnancy and is designed to screen for any potential problems with the organs, skeleton, skin and development. Some places can also tell you the sex.

This is an enjoyable scan for most parents and the likelihood of a problem is small- in less than 2% of scans we detect a problem and in most of those the problem is minor. Some major problems can also be detected at previous scans so if all looked healthy at your 12 week scan, and you've not had any problems since, then chances are high your baby is fine.

The scan itself is like all ultrasounds- performed by a qualified doctor, midwife or sonographer ina darkened room, where ultrasound jelly is applied to your abdomen then the scanner placed on your bump to give the image on screen. The scan lasts about half an hour, and you'll be given pictures of your baby afterwards.

Some places say you need a full bladder, but I don't recommend this after 16 weeks as it can actually obscure the view.

Good luck and congratulations on your baby.

What is Illusion of Depth??????!!!!!!!!?

3d scanner definition
on 3D Scanning, Laser Scanning, Laser Digitizing, 3D Imaging definition
3d scanner definition image

poopstains

i just need the definition!!!!!!

Answer
Stereopsis (from stereo meaning solidity, and opsis meaning vision or sight) is the process in visual perception leading to perception of stereoscopic depth. In turn, stereoscopic depth is the sensation of depth that emerges from the fusion of the two slightly different projections of the world on the two retinas. The difference between the two eyes' images, which is a result of the eyes' horizontal separation, is usually referred to as binocular disparity or retinal disparity. The fact that this binocular disparity is interpreted by the brain as depth was first discovered by Charles Wheatstone, a British scientist, and described by him in a classic paper[1] published in 1838: â⦠the mind perceives an object of three-dimensions by means of the two dissimilar pictures projected by it on the two retinæâ¦â, (Wheatstone, 1838). To prove his ideas, Wheatstone invented a simple device which he dubbed a stereoscope. Using his newly invented stereoscope Wheatstone was able to convincingly show that a vivid sense of depth emerges from two completely flat pictures depicting two different projections of the same scene.

or

Stereoscopy, stereoscopic imaging or 3-D (three-dimensional) imaging is any technique capable of recording three-dimensional visual information or creating the illusion of depth in an image. The illusion of depth in a photograph, movie, or other two-dimensional image is created by presenting a slightly different image to each eye. Many 3D displays use this method to convey images. It was first invented by Sir Charles Wheatstone in 1840.[1] Stereoscopy is used in photogrammetry and also for entertainment through the production of stereograms. Stereoscopy is useful in viewing images rendered from large multi-dimensional data sets such as are produced by experimental data. Modern industrial three dimensional photography may use 3D scanners to detect and record 3 dimensional information. The three-dimensional depth information can be reconstructed from two images using a computer by corresponding the pixels in the left and right images. Solving the Correspondence problem in the field of Computer Vision aims to create meaningful depth information from two images.

Traditional stereoscopic photography consists of creating a 3-D illusion starting from a pair of 2-D images. The easiest way to create depth perception in the brain is to provide the eyes of the viewer with two different images, representing two perspectives of the same object, with a minor deviation similar to the perspectives that both eyes naturally receive in binocular vision. If eyestrain and distortion are to be avoided, each of the two 2-D images preferably should be presented to each eye of the viewer so that any object at infinite distance seen by the viewer should be perceived by that eye while it is oriented straight ahead, the viewer's eyes being neither crossed nor diverging. When the picture contains no object at infinite distance, such as a horizon or a cloud, the pictures should be spaced correspondingly closer together.

My computer keeps freezing?

sirhouse

My computer freezes a lot to the point where its become "useless". I'll list the history of what happened to it and if anyone has a fix to it I'm literally going to explode out of happiness.

I got my first blue screen playing a 3D game called minecraft, all I had to do was restart my computer and it worked again. This kept happening but not to the point where it was annoying, it rarely happened.

But I kept playing games and it got to the point where I would get a blue screen after a few minutes every time I played any game or video.

I asked a question on here a while ago and I got some help that told me it was the graphics card/driver. I uninstalled the graphics driver and reinstalled it, but the problems continued.

I thought it had to be an overheating problem so I removed the back case of my laptop. But in fact this made it much worse and I thought it was because now my RAM sticks weren't seated securely and they were moving around causing it to crash much more commonly. So I took one out I couldn't find the other one but this didn't change anything at all except now it crashes even when I'm not doing anything video related like surfing the web.

Anyways thats where I'm at now. I think its a problem with the hardware because it kept getting worse over time, but I don't know what parts not working. Thanks for ANY advice/pointers!

Answer
What Operating System your using?

Suggest running the Memory Diagnostics Tool from Microsoft:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-nz/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

If one or more memory sticks is corrupted at a point, then your find that your computer will randomly crash (when it has reached and tries to use that address). So, this could happen at any time - boot time, during any application/game, etc. If this is your issue, then carefully remove all memory sticks (after removing static from your body by grounding yourself - for example: touching a piece of metal area on the computer) except for one and retest each individually... place back any good ones and replace the damaged one(s).

Next scan your computer hard drive(s) for errors, go under "My Computer" -> Right click on each Local Disk (one at a time) -> Properties -> Tools (tab) -> Erroring Checking -> Check Now. Select automatically fix file system errors and also check for bad sectors option. If the drive is in use, it might ask to check on next boot up instead (say okay and restart).

Next scan your computer for viruses, spyware and trojans. If you already have an virus scanner, then ensure it is up-to-date as well as Windows, a good firewall and other applications you use regularly. Most virus scanner are utter rubbish, I recommend total application control rather than virus definition only scanners. This means something which gives or denies each application/game access to various areas of your system (including itself) with a strong firewall to prevent any network access, such as Kaspersky Internet Security.

You can check with some free tools, such as: http://www.kaspersky.com/virus-scanner

Also, check for spyware using a free manual running application (which doesn't conflict with your virus scanner) such as Lava Soft Ad-Aware: http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php or Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/dl/

Next clean out any startup background applications and/or services you don't need. This is more advance, only remove what you know is and don't want. You can use Start -> Run -> type "MsConfig.exe" and press enter, then look under the Startup tab, also more carefully under the Services tab (Leave it alone or Google search the name of each if unsure what it is/does).

I would to become a web designer (graphic and coding) and what are the best universities/colleges for this in USA? with a BFA degree...

MAX!!?

Answer
In the USA, I recommend the following:

Pratt Institute, New York, NY;
Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI;
Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA;
California College of the Arts, San Francisco, CA;
University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA;
Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI;
Otis College of Art and Design, Pasadena, CA;
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA; and
Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA

Although I urge that you explore all of the above, I am more familiar with the following; and, thus, I have provided a bit of information.

*Art Center College of Design
1700 Lida Street
Pasadena, CA 91103
(626) 396-2373

The college offers programs leading to the BFA and BS Degrees, as well as graduate degrees. Its GRAPHIC DESIGN design program is first-rate and it includes excellent academic and technical offerings. For the increasingly computer-literate students who enter the Art Center, the idea of leadership is key. As the college notes, "these young designers will have opportunities to shape the development of a medium that is only beginning to fulfill its promise."
Please see:
http://www.artcenter.edu/accd/programs/u...

*Otis College of Art and Design
9045 Lincoln Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90045

Otis College of Art and Design has a four year Bachelor of Fine Arts program that offers majors in seven areas: Communication Arts, DIGITAL MEDIA, Architecture/Landscape/Interiors, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Interactive Product Design and Toy Design. The cornerstone of the Otis program is the first year curriculum, which is called Foundation. Students from all majors take the core studio classes: drawing and composition, figure drawing, two and three dimensional design. In these integrated classes students build the art, design and creative skills and vocabulary that are the "foundation" of their subsequent studies and future work. Students enter their sophomore year well prepared to begin work in their major.

It has an excellent DIGITAL MEDIA program the primary goal of which is to strike a balance between traditional art and technology, and between individual vision and teamwork. By providing a fundamental understanding of digital tools and their creative applications, the department prepares graduates to meet the demands of a diverse and expanding job market. Leading designers for visual effects, Web, film, television, broadcast media, advertising, and video gaming guide the students.
Please see:
http://www.otis.edu/academics/index.html
http://www.otis.edu/academics/digital_me...

*University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)
405 Hilgard Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90095
(310) 825-3101

The UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture has a world-class
Department of DESIGN AND MEDIA ARTS. The School and Department take pride in educating responsible designers and artists for the information age by teaching the fundamentals of Design, Media, and the Arts, and encouraging experimentation and innovation. The Department provides an extensive education in Design and Media Arts practice, history and criticism; and it fosters a critical and creative exploration of emerging forms of visual communication, typography, interaction and interface design, ubiquitous computing, virtual environments, information spaces, networked agents and other pertinent areas of research.

Housed in the remarkable Broad Art Center, its facilities include the DMA Labs. Why dont airports use dogs instead of those 3d body scanners?

3d scanner how to
on 3D Scanner Model Maker combines with a laser scanning head with a Faro ...
3d scanner how to image

BillsGold

Dogs could detect everything those scanners do and more. Why not make them standard at every airport gate? My own theory is that you cant make a lot of money from dogs so there's no lobbyists advocating for dogs. You can make money off of those scanners ($150,000 a machine?). Is our security being subverted by washington lobbyists?

Answer
If each team had several dogs all trained in detecting different substances, the handlers could simply walk the dogs along the line of waiting passengers and remove anyone the dogs "hit" on. Forget technology, let nature expose them. I agree. Dogs not scanners.

Where can I buy a low cost 3d scanner?

Al

I need to scan in some parts to add to a CAD model. I'm really looking for something that's plug and play, where I drop the object into the scanner and it automatically puts it into a CAD packge. Any ideas?

Answer
What do you consider low cost? Good ones run around $10,000 (e.g., Roland) but you can find some for around $2,500 (e.g., Nextengine).

Should I upgrade my iphone 3gs to a 5s?

3d scanner cheap

3d scanner cheap image

binfordaep

I currently have an iphone 3gs as my personal cell phone. I have had this model of phone since the day it came out in 2009. This is my third one as the other two have broken and been replaced through apple care. I've had this one since January 2012. I keep getting new phones through work - an iphone 4s in January 2012 and a Galaxy S3 in January 2013, which is the reason I haven't bothered to upgrade my personal phone.

Overall, I'm relatively happy with the phone, although I have noticed it has gotten much slower since I installed ios6 on it. My only real gripe with it is that it has no light on it and the camera sucks (however, I have my S3 in the rare instance I need a camera or a light).

So basically, I'm looking for someone to make a convincing argument as to why I should/shouldn't get a new phone given the circumstances. That is, I currently have a device that does exactly what I need it to: it calls, texts, emails, goes on the internet and runs simple apps (e.g. maps, banking, yelp - I don't really use any processor intensive apps like 3D games). I basically never watch videos on it and use it for music about twice a month. As far as I can tell, the 5s isn't any better at calling, texting, or emailing than the 3gs. Basically, I feel like I am paying for it to be slightly faster and have a better display and camera which is similar to the one on my S3.

Please justify why this is/isn't worth $200 given that I also have an S3 that I can use for pretty much anything I want except browsing work restricted websites (porn).

I am not concerned with contract terms, etc. so this comes down to whether or not it is worth upgrading this phone for $200 or waiting until it dies so I got every last dollar of utility out of it.

Answer
Yes you should, A TON of reasons why

1) iOS 7, the 3GS is too old to run iOS 7 which is a beautiful new operating system

2) Its not slightly faster its WAY faster, with the new A7 chip you'll notice a BIG difference between the 3GS and the 5S

3) Siri, the personal voice assistant, can help you set reminders make phone calls, and even Tweet and post to Facebook

4) Touch ID, the biggest feature of the iPhone 5s this fingerprint scanner offers a high level of security, all you need to do is place your finger on the home button and it unlocks.

The 5c is a good substitute it has the same specs as an iPhone 5 and is about $100 cheaper than the 5s

What would be a good laptop?

Justin H

I am getting ready to purchase a new laptop. I want one with a decent size screen and a fingerprint scanner. It will be used for everyday computing and school work.

Answer
If you're a little into gaming like myself, you're @ the store and looking at the display laptops, the 1st thing you should look for on computer surface itself is a logo sticker for NVidia or ATI Mobility Radeon just below the keyboard. This shows that the laptop has a DEDICATED GRAPHICS CARD. Diablo III, the game I would love most to play is said to run on 3D graphics & is rumored to need at least 1GB of graphics memory (a lower graphics memory = cheaper laptop price), so always check the system requirement specs of the game's packaging (ex. SIMS 3; see if your laptop meets all these requirements).
Next important aspect is the RAM (memory). If you're in designing & you need to ran applications like AutoCAD 2007 or softwares used for editing photos and videos, you have to make sure that the laptop has at least 2GB DDR2 memory modules in it (the more, the better; DDR3 the fastest and newest type of memory modules that came out last October).
But what makes a computer really run fast? It is it's processor! So if you really want your processor to have computing prowess & for you to be able to run different applications simultaneously, make sure it's as efficient as an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (Centrino 2 is a Core 2 Duo that features power saving capabilities; Quad Core is for gaming fanatics). A Core 2 Duo, is like having 2 motors running your machine each independent of the other which means for a Quad Core, it's like 4 motors are running the machine (that means it will run faster & more efficient even if its frequency is lower to that of a Core 2 Duo). Intel: Core 2 Duo, Centrino 2, Quad Core & Core i-7 (Core i-5 for desktops only as of now) are all very much faster and better than an Intel: Atom, Celeron & Pentium (and their more affordable AMD counterparts). Just make sure that you have at least 2GHz of speed on your processor. For my computer, I chose an Intel® Core⢠i7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB; newest type just came out this Nov) w/c is just the right stuff for the applications I use & games I play.
The average laptop LCD screen size is 15.4". If you want something smaller than that with these 3 features I just shed some light on, expect the price to go higher (ex. for 13.3" & 14.1" LCD screens).
The HDD (Hard Disc Drive) should have at least 320GB {Although I would have loved my computer more if it came with two HDD bays... 1st one for a 128GB SSD (Solid State Drive) and a back-up 500GB (72000rpm) 2nd HDD}.
If you've thought of a small, portable and affordable laptop, the new Sony CW13FX/B Jet Black glossy notebook went on sale @ Fry's about 3 weeks ago (for only $699.99). I checked out the price they had in other stores, and Fry's was cheaper by about $200 {go to Fry's Electronics (www.Fry's.com) then type in this # 6029078 (or 6029138 for white & 6029108 for pink) in the search box under Notebooks/Tablets before you click on GO}. Now, after the sale, the price went up by $100, so we are waiting for it to go on sale again after Thanksgiving. Let's say you are on 9th grade.. when buying a computer, you have to consider if you will still be able to use the one you bought for college? For this particular Sony model, I would assure you, you can still use it for college as long as you take good care of it & not break it (for the technology installed on this computer will not be outdated & still be good in 10 years to come, but this is just an example). There are a lot of good brand of computers out there Toshiba, Dell, HP and ACER (w/c owns Asus & Gateway; has affordable computers with the newest technology installed), you just need to look for the ones on sale (try display computers on Clearance Sale inside stores like Micro Center, Best Buy and Office Depot). Try http://www.newegg.com/ look for HP Pavilion dv6-1362nr.
Microsoft Office is an office productivity software (so you would need to buy the retail version after the 60-day Free Trial Version that comes with all brand new computers expires, to be able to use the Word, Excel and Power Point applications). Retail version is about $159, but you can get a discounted price of $99 with a configured Dell laptop (www.dell.com).
MacBooks, that is on a totally different aspect for Apple has their own OS (Operating System) unlike the common Windows OS (XP, Vista and the newest Windows 7) that most computers come with.
Some places to start looking for the best prices, my advice, go to Fry's, CostCo, MicroCenter and BestBuy's web sites for updates & comparison. There are a lot of options and different combinations you can try in customizing your own laptop, just stick to the bare essentials first (www.HP.com). The 15.6" HP laptop I customized and had configured with the Intel® Core⢠i-7 came to a total amount of $1,455.80 ($136 tax + other sur-charges already included). I chose to pay more to have the newest technology installed, so that I don't have to worry about it getting outdated within the next 15 yrs.

I am a college student and am going to be moving to Australia for a while, and I am looking for a camera before I go. I have taken a few short photography lessons, so I know basically what I am doing. I am looking to spend between $100-$250

Answer
I started photography in 1964, have done my share of weddings and portraits, graduations, etc., including court evidence for landlord/tenant courts. Professional? I've lived off of photography, am semi-retired today.

When you buy a camera, consider that you're buying in to a lens system. Your camera's lens mount determines what lenses you can use, and that camera brand's lenses will be dependent on whether or not the camera brand changes its lens mount. Nikon has not changed its lens mount since 1959 and it is well known in the industry for great lenses with very good glass formulas. You won't have problems finding lenses in the future.

Best FILM camera for amateur, photography classes: Nikon N80 with the Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6D lens (also a macro lens) or the Nikkor 35-105mm f/3.5-5.6D(macro) lens. This camera has many features that you will not outgrow anytime soon; it has spot meter, average/center-weighted metering and 3D matrix metering, can be used totally manually (you set the aperture, shutter speed) with auto-focus or without auto-focus, or aperture priority (you set the desired aperture, the camera sets the correct, corresponding shutter speed) or shutter priority (you set the desired shutter speed, the camera will set the correct, corresponding aperture) or totally automatic where the camera will set the aperture and shutter speed with auto-focus or if you wish, without the auto-focus. The camera is the best bang-for-your-dollar on this level, and it also has a built-in flash good up to about 5 feet. It is a sturdy, ergonomically built camera, will advance your film automatically and rewind the film as you take the last shot, and it sets the ISO automatically for you (although you can also override to "push" or "pull" film), it has on-command grid lines to help you maintain a level horizon when you do landscapes, seascapes and architectural photos. It is the poor man's "pro" camera. Get the instructions manual; there are many more features that I do not have the time or space to include here.

I still have two of these cameras even though I have my two trusty pro-level Nikon F5 cameras.

The lens is the most versatile lens around; you can use it as a wide angle lens (28-35mm), regular lens (45-55mm), as a portrait lens (80-90mm), as a short telephoto lens (90-105mm) and as a macro-lens (it converts to a macro lens by switching a small switch). The Nikkor 35-105mm f/3.5-5.6D (macro) lens is the older but equally good lens that is a few dollars cheaper. You might even want to include a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D for low light situations; this little lens is easy to carry and will help you out in low light situations where you might otherwise have great difficulties or you might not get at all.

Once you have the film processed, you can either scan the images at home (if you have a scanner at home) or you can have a CD made by the lab that processes your film. You'll the have the film for future use, and not have to worry about archival issues, still not unsettled in the digital technology.

Point and shoot camera: check into the Canon S3-iS. It does not have interchangeable lens but it has many good features considering its price range.

Best digital SLR for amateur or photography classes: Nikon D50 with the kit lens, which I would recommend over the Canon S3-iS since there's not much difference in prices and there is so much more camera in the Nikon D50; or, the Nikon D70S with the kit lens; this camera is still going strong and people are still raving over its many good qualities. With these Nikon cameras, you'll have a camera that will retain a higher resale price than any other when you decide to upgrade to another camera, and the lenses will surely fit any other Nikon digital camera!

Check with www.keh.com and see what they have; if you don't see what you want, go back in 2 or 3 days and be ready to buy at once since their merchandise doesn't stay very long on their shelves.

If you truly wish to stay in photography, whether to make this your profession or for the sake of having a lifelong hobby (that is also very therapeutic), get a camera that you can grow with, and develop skills and let your natural talents grow. But the best you can afford if you're sure that you're going to be in photography a long time, but buy wisely and save money in the process! For now, buy good but used cameras in good shape and buy only from reputable places where you'll have a certain degree of security.

You must have realistic expectations in buying your camera and lens; $250 is NOT realistic. Your best bet is to get a good but used N80 at about $170 and get the Nikkor 35-105mm f/3.5-5.6D(macro) lens for about $140 or so, or maybe about $530 for a Nikon D50 with the kit lens. Do NOT even think that you'll be saving any kind of real money by getting a generic lens; you will get what you pay for! Don't fall into this trap as so many others have; get into good habits from the start. If you choose to go with a Canon camera, get Canon lenses, and if you go with Nikon, get Nikkor lenses... don't put cheap tires on your Rolls-Royce! Cheap lenses are cheap lenses; stay away from generics!

Good luck and best wishes.

is it possbiel to take a 2d picture and make it 3d?

Anthony

Is it possible to take a 2d picture make it 3d and mold it around a figure? Any sized figure.
Is it possible to make a program that does all this automatically.

Answer
Sort-of. You can make programs that guess at the 3D, but there's no way to tell for sure; so most of these programs work terribly.

The way people do it in visual studios is they hire artists to recreate the scene in 3D from scratch. They don't use any scanners or automated systems, they actually hand-make it all in a 3D environment. I presume this is not what you want to do, but if it is, you can try out Blender, which is a good 3D program that's free.

Anyone in the dental field use equality tech for dental scanning? deep scanning area, sharp margin line etc.. how quick is their turn around time & final product? please answer only if your familiar with this technology, thanks.

Answer
I've actually purchased there DS2 white light scanner for our lab. We love it and its very automated with a click of a button it scans 18-23 areas. Very fast!!! The scanner has 2 cameras that allows it to scan deep areas and for sharp margin lines it has 2 high resoulution cameras and its an open system. Good Luck and I defiantly recommend them.

what is a conebeam scanner?

kelsaid76

Answer
A conebeam scanner is a medical device that uses low-level radiation in order to provide 3D images of bone structures. It is designed for maxillofacial imaging, useful in dental practice. (Similar to having either a normal bite-wing or panoramic x-ray done.)

The 3D imaging gives the dentist a better view as opposed to the older 2D technology of panoramic imaging.

I've included a link below to an article regarding the conebeam scanner.

Information on television history?

I'm doing a school project on the history of the television and i was wondering if anyone could give me any info like when it was first invented, when colour,3d and hd came in, how many channels it had at first, what they were made out of, when remote controls were invented and stuff like that? it's monday and my project is due wednesday so please help. thanks

Answer
I have to warn you, this is a very small paste from a huge article in Wikipedia.

I went to Google and wrote : advent of television invention and found many article and just selected a small section from Wikipedia.

paste:
The beginnings of mechanical television can be traced back to the discovery of the photoconductivity of the element selenium by Willoughby Smith in 1873, the invention of a scanning disk by Paul Gottlieb Nipkow in 1884 and John Logie Baird's demonstration of televised moving images in 1926.

As a 23-year-old German university student, Paul Nipkow proposed and patented the first electromechanical television system in 1884. Although he never built a working model of the system, variations of Nipkow's spinning-disk "image rasterizer" for television became exceedingly common, and remained in use until 1939. Constantin Perskyi had coined the word television in a paper read to the International Electricity Congress at the International World Fair in Paris on August 25, 1900. Perskyi's paper reviewed the existing electromechanical technologies, mentioning the work of Nipkow and others.

However, it was not until 1907 that developments in amplification tube technology, by Lee DeForest and Arthur Korn among others, made the design practical. The first demonstration of the instantaneous transmission of still silhouette images was by Georges Rignoux and A. Fournier in Paris in 1909, using a rotating mirror-drum as the scanner and a matrix of 64 selenium cells as the receiver.

In 1911, Boris Rosing and his student Vladimir Zworykin created a television system that used a mechanical mirror-drum scanner to transmit, in Zworykin's words, "very crude images" over wires to the "Braun tube" (cathode ray tube or "CRT") in the receiver. Moving images were not possible because, in the scanner, "the sensitivity was not enough and the selenium cell was very laggy".
On March 25, 1925, Scottish inventor John Logie Baird gave the first public demonstration of televised silhouette images in motion, at Selfridge's Department Store in London. AT&T's Bell Telephone Laboratories transmitted halftone still images of transparencies in May 1925. On June 13 of that year, Charles Francis Jenkins transmitted the silhouette image of a toy windmill in motion, over a distance of five miles from a naval radio station in Maryland to his laboratory in Washington, using a lensed disk scanner with a 48-line resolution.

However, if television is defined as the live transmission of moving images with continuous tonal variation, Baird first achieved this privately on October 2, 1925. But strictly speaking, Baird had not yet achieved moving images on October 2. His scanner worked at only five images per second, below the threshold required to give the illusion of motion, usually defined as at least 12 images per second. By January, he had improved the scan rate to 12.5 images per second.

Then on January 26, 1926 at his laboratory in London, Baird gave what is widely recognized as being the world's first demonstration of a working television system to members of the Royal Institution and a newspaper reporter.

How to turn pencil sketch into photo?

GH.Suan

I would like to scan in the picture that I draw then use photoshop or any other software to convert it into 2d or 3d photographs for poster.

Thank you.

Answer
There's no way to convert a pencil sketch into photo directly with a converter or filter. Designers are using tools, filters, many layers and effects to color the pencil sketch digitally. For example on one of these, have a look at this clip:
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlKh9OK2HIA
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXpitgT-Om8

Note: most digital artists are using tablets:

Also have a look at this clip, some artists are drawing and coloring on Photoshop directly using tablets:

If you are looking forward to buy a tablet, Wacom Tablet is recommended.
