any good apps or anything fun you can do on it ?! :)
@Suresh thats not even funny?

Answer
Place it on a clean level surface with screen facing space and at a distance of 6 metres away from you.
Take a 20 pounds stone and throw exactly on it.If you got it, then increase the distance to 10m and try again. It is really a funny way to make use of ur SII.
Sorry..
Decide your area of interest and collect apps relative to it.
You may do geocaching. There are couple of apps for that.
Plenty of games.
If you are interested in photography there are excellent apps on google play that can make your photo sessions more enjoyable.(retro camera, vignette,Little photo etc.)
Some relaxing apps like Nature sounds that gives you 3D holophonic soothing sound of beach, forest or rain effects that makes you to sleep.

Answer
The first answerer is right. I found this info and it sounds like it was super complicated to make it look that way:

"Post-production took almost a year. The film was edited on an Avid, with an HD cut also maintained in Final Cut Pro. The 3D was made using Maya, XSI and Lightwave. The 2D composites were made with Shake, Inferno, Fusion and Combustion. The filmmakers prefer Macintosh, but large portions of the movie were made under Linux. Asset management was handled by custom software written in the Panorama development environment, made by Provue. Color management was handled by Truelight software. The film was scanned on a Northlight scanner and was recorded on the Arrilaser. Most of the film was shot at high speed, between 50 and 150fps (normally, film is shot at 24fps). The film was transferred to HD SR tape and quicktime, and HD quicktimes were the basis for the HD preview cuts. The working resolution for the film was 2K, at a working aspect ratio of 2.11:1 and a projected aspect ratio of 2.39:1."

Answer
Try these. All are FREE......

Pencil : http://www.pencil-animation.org/
Pencil is an animation/drawing software for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. It lets you create traditional hand-drawn animation (cartoon) using both bitmap and vector graphics. Pencil is free and open source.

Synfig Animation Studio : http://synfig.org/
Synfig is a powerful, industrial-strength vector-based open-source 2D animation software package, designed from the ground-up for producing feature-film quality animation with fewer people and resources.2D Animation has traditionally been very expensive because every frame must be drawn by hand. Even with today´s digital inking and painting software, the process still relies on individuals hand-drawing each frame. This laborious task is called "tweening".Synfig eliminates the task of manual tweening, producing smooth, fluid motion without the animator having to draw out each frame individually. This allows you to produce 2D animation with fewer people while producing art of a higher quality.

Tapptoons Linetester : http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/tapptoons/index.htm
The Tapptoons Linetester enables animators to use a scanner or video camera (with compatible capture card) to input animation images into a standard PC and edit their work, adding soundtrack and color if they wish and to output the result as a Windows AVI. Can be used for puppet animation as well as drawn animation.

eDrawings : http://www.edrawingsviewer.com/
eDrawings is a freeware utility which will give the user the power to view, create and share 3D models and 2D drawings. eDrawings offers unique capabilities like point-and-click animations that make it easy for anyone with a PC to interpret and understand 2D and 3D design data.

Has anyone had a level 2 ultrasound? Can you explain?

Lis

NOT A 3D. Just a normal scan that is more detailed and they go through thoroughly looking for defects etc. and give you a better picture of what is going on with your child...I am just a bit nervous about an appt I have on Wednesday.

Answer
I'm assuming you mean the 20 week one? Here in UK we call that anomaly scan. The scan is a routine one offered to all pregnant women about 20 weeks into their pregnancy and is designed to screen for any potential problems with the organs, skeleton, skin and development. Some places can also tell you the sex.

This is an enjoyable scan for most parents and the likelihood of a problem is small- in less than 2% of scans we detect a problem and in most of those the problem is minor. Some major problems can also be detected at previous scans so if all looked healthy at your 12 week scan, and you've not had any problems since, then chances are high your baby is fine.

The scan itself is like all ultrasounds- performed by a qualified doctor, midwife or sonographer ina darkened room, where ultrasound jelly is applied to your abdomen then the scanner placed on your bump to give the image on screen. The scan lasts about half an hour, and you'll be given pictures of your baby afterwards.

Some places say you need a full bladder, but I don't recommend this after 16 weeks as it can actually obscure the view.

Good luck and congratulations on your baby.

Can someone use this idea for cameras ? Please pass along and maybe it will evolve into something worthwhile !?

3d scanner definition
on Comparison with commonly used optical microscope, SEM and roughness ...
3d scanner definition image

Mr. J

Dear Reader,

I offer these ideas for your consideration. First a few comments.
In the 1980âs a type of computer program, known as an expert system, was developed to diagnose Meningitis after reviewing the symptoms of possible candidate patients. It was more effective than the doctors it was tested against ! It is, I think, reasonable to assume that many other such programs could and should be developed and made widely available to the public. This would go a long way in reducing health care cost and move us forward technologically speaking, as a species. Now to, how this relates to camera improvements.

First: It is a fact that many human diseases reveal themselves in human fingernails, toenails, and in the eye. I am suggesting that a digital camera, loaded with a well written program, probably a combination of expert system and neural network could be used to diagnose potential disease conditions. Simply, place your hand or other such appendage on a controlled surface, take a picture and analyze same. I am aware that this concept is very general but I offer it to you with the hope that you will give it fair consideration.
If successful this could open up exciting new markets for camera makers.

Second: I would like to see a camera that has a program that will determine the area of surface by simple taking a picture of it. I think this should be fairly straight forward if you were to use Pickâs formula for determining area.

Third: I would like to see a digital camera add a long exposure feature to itsâ list of features. Once again I think this should be doable by creating a program that tells the camera to take pictures at intervals and âoverlaysâ each picture, thereby capturing more light for each picture pixel. Of course, a motorized tripod could be used to capture astronomical footage. This technique should increase still picture quality by orders of magnitude !

Lastly: The Intel corporation recently announced an optical device that will be available soon that will be fast enough, I have read, to download a high definition movie in on second ! This will of course make USB obsolete. It would seem that one could use this tool to connect a camera to other devices such as a microscope, telescope, or any other âopticalâ reader and get excellent video and extreme data analysis. I hope to soon see this available to the general public.

I have posted these thoughts on the web. I hope these memes evolve and inspire others to create.

Thank you,

Mr. J
Thanks for your input Joe.

On item 1, please realize that many corporations have a vested interest NOT to create such a program, whereas, camera makers are in need of ideas that will allow them to compete with ever better cell phone cameras.

On item 2, The area idea was meant to be a quick fix to problems like , finding the area of a wall you might want to wall paper or paint. It would only be used for "good enough approximations.

On item 3, I was thinking more about the possibility of using the camera via long exposure to act as a substitute telescope. Each image captured would bring new light to the lens. A program would add this photon info, by laying each image on TOP of the prior image. The internal program could keep track of new information being picked up thereby allowing a simple camera to view deep sky objects, and vivid still photos.

If no one else has input I will give you the best answer. I just wanted to post these ideas somewhere, in the hopes that by creating a mem

Answer
1 - interesting idea - however i think it would make more sense to create some computer software and then tether it to an off the shelf camera - reducing costs over all.

2 - To determine the surface area, you would have to have a 3d model of surface, because otherwise it would not be able to take into consideration and bumps or groves, as these would just appear as a flat surface. i believe that there are laser scanners that can already do this. I think they use them to scan in the 3d sculptures that are created to create animations such as the ones produced by pixar.

3 - There is a product that does it, and infact you can do it yourself, if you take hundred of pictured of a scene from the same point, load them into photoshop, and merge them, it will create a huge image that is all of yours stitched together to make one. Google Gigapixel photo.

4 - Light Peak - the technology you are referring to most probably will make usb obsolete. Telescopes are already available with mounts that allow you to place an SLR on the back, and use it as a huge lens. And video microscopes are available, with electron microscopes being able to produce very detailed and highly magnified images. The data transfer speed is not the issue here, rather the resolution of the cameras.

Anyway, some interesting ideas.

Linux live cd with good antivirus scan?

Milkduds

I was on a website, youtube and cgtextures.com and I was redirected to a fake rouge antivirus where it tells me my computer has x amount of threats blah blah blah. I quickly alt F4d out and scanned my computer. Nothing came up so I hope I didnt get anything. First off can someone explain to me a little about this fake antivirus scareware. I dont believe I have a computer with trojans malware or viruses becuase its only 2 months old and dedicated to 3D work. It runs windows7 64bit. This is why I am thinking it was definately a redirect.

I already have a linux live CD, but is there a good linux live CD that has a good virus scanner. That way incase I ever did get a virus I could remove it without reinstalling the OS and all my software which would take atleast a day.
Adding to the question. It doesnt seem like either of these websites would redirect to a virus scam site. Is it possible that one of the adds on the sites slipped through Googles radar and was actuall bad? I am mostly concerned as to why this happened.

Answer
Use a clean Windows or Mac computer and download this SystemRescueCD ISO

http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page

For Windows use the free ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a cd

(on a Mac use Apple's Disk Utility in the Applications > Utilities folder)

Research online what the BIO's boot key to hold to enter the BIO's for the infected computer.

Make sure the infected computer has a WIRED internet connection to the router with a Ethernet cable.

Insert the SystemRestorecd into the infected computer, boot and enter the BIO's, set the cd as the first boot option. You'll now boot into SystemRescue, select the Graphical interface.

You'll see a Terminal window, type the two following commands and press enter after each one

clamd

freshclam

clamd is the virus scanner, freshclam updates the definitions via the internet online

Next there is a icon on the bottom, mouse over it, click it and it should open to be Gparted.

Once Gparted window is open, look on the right popup menu for the list of drives, you want the FAT or NTSF formatted one that Windows uses, check the size too. It should be obvious. Now get the name of the drive Linux uses to identify it either sda1 or sda2 usually.

Once you got that, close Gparted Window.

Now back to terminal type the one of the following depending if it's sda1 or sda2 (or sda3 or sda4 etc for the windows drive)

ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt/windows

ntfs-3g /dev/sda2 /mnt/windows

ntfs-3g /dev/sda3 /mnt/windows

ntfs-3g /dev/sda4 /mnt/windows

next type:

clamscan -vri /mnt/windows

and let her rip for a few hours, the monitor will likely sleep, you can use the mouse to wake it up.

come back and you'll have a status report and can quarantine infected files. Take the names and locations down to do research. If there are a lot, then you need to grab your files, you'll need to factory restore Windows.

Either boot into safe mode on windows and attempt to transfer files or better yet

On a safe machine, burn a ISO of Ubuntu downloaded from this page (easiest and direct way)

http://www.linuxliveusb.com/en/help/guide/step2

Use the ImgBurn or OS X Disk Utility and follow the same boot methods on the infected computer like above. You don't need a internet connection, but you do need a blank FAT formatted external USB drive (Windows or OS X Disk Utility can format that)

Hook up the external to the infected computer, boot off the Ubuntu cd and "try" Ubuntu, once the desktop appears, simply select the Places menu > Computer and select the Windows drive, navigate to your files and copy them to the external drive window via drag and drop methods.

It's also possible from the terminal on SystemRestoreCd to copy files to a external drive as well, but this takes some knowledge, I used the Ubuntu GUI method as the easiest.

The advantage of a Linux Live cd scan is that Windows doesn't run, thus the malware doesn't run and the cd is write protected, a different OS and the more secure Linux as well. Malware has little chance to lie to you this way like it does when Windows is running. Also Linux scans the whole drive, instead of a malware controlled Windows only scanning parts it wants you to scan.

Once you get a clean Windows computer again, you should first have your external drive virus scanned and cleaned on a Linux or OS X machine before hooking back to your new clean Windows, new malware comes out all the time so definitions need to be updated and a rescan done.

Answer
India is truly set to witness a boom in the export of animation and digital special effects for Hollywood blockbusters.

With production costs being a fourth of that in the US, India is fast emerging as a mega-base for outsourcing animation production from global studios such as Disney, & Cartoon Network.

This is leading to skilled English-speaking Indian animation and design professionals, visualisers, ink-and-paint artists, compositors, scan-and-render artists, in-between artists, game developers, character developers and modeling artists to head westwards lured by attractive dollar salaries.

PentaMedia, Crest Communications, Unilazer, Toonz Animation India Ltd., Magic Shop, Universal Studios, UTV Toons, Western Outdoor, Digital Canvas, ZICA, Shri Adhikari Brothers and Heart Animation, Hyderabad are some of the big players in India. Some of these are acquiring or partnering animation houses abroad.

If you have loads of talent, i.e., if you have a flair for drawing, sketching or cartooning (if you have a bachelorâs in graphic/ applied/fine art), all you need is some professional training to handle the relevant animation and multimedia software like 3D Studio Max, Adobe After Effects and a good compositing software.

You could check out the following institutes:

ZICA Studios, Essel World, Gorai Island, Borivali (W), Mumbai 400091. Tel: 022-8684485/ 6704228. Course: Animation (1-yr).

Heart Animation Academy: Annapurna Studios, Road # 2, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad-500033. Course: Multimedia.

PIX Cell India Productions, S-176, G K-1, New Delhi-110048. Ph: 6422248, 6415821, and 6415836. Course :Animation.

Burr Brown (I) Ltd. have recently announced a course in animation and special effects. The 3-mth course comes at a steep price of Rs 45000/-. Although the advertisement guarantees a job with the organisation as a (2D or 3D) Special Effects or Multimedia professional, in actuality there are several caveats. Contact: Manager HR, Usha Bhavan, A-41 Mohan Co-op Estate, Mathura Rd, New Delhi 110044. Ph: 6950191.

Modi Entertainment Group has entered into a business alliance with the Vancouver Film School, US to set up professional training institutes in India. The first school in Mumbai will kick off with three full-time courses (10-11 mths) in 2D Classical Animation; 3D Animation; and New Media. While Class 12 is the minimum qualification, someone with an art school background would be ideal particularly for 2D.

But these are fairly expensive courses, so do check them out before enrolling.

Also insiders say that 2D animation has almost reached a plateau globally and is in a box-office slump. 3D animation is now the rage because it is much more realistic. The characters and objects can be made to have ârealâ texture. So you would do well to focus on the latter.

Please read!! Will eating chocolates help - 18 Week ultrasound?

Hope

I'm going for an ultrasound on Thursday - I will be 18 weeks exactly on the date. We really want to know the gender of our baby and are so excited!! Both my pregnant friends couldn't see the gender on the particular sonar because the babies werent lying right. Now, I've heard that I must have a bar of chocolate or coffee before I go to the doctor to make the baby more active. Has anyone had success with this? Will it be dangerous to the baby with all the caffeine? Any other suggestions will be much appreciated!!

Thank you in advance for all your answers!! Very much appreciated! Were just so excited. This is our first!

Answer
PLease please please... DO NOT have the chocolate...

The chocolate (or candy or simply anything sweet) will make the baby moving wildly and to be very active.
But - here it is - that will not, absolutely not make the gender revelation easier, because, the quick jerky movement and high activity will not allow the sonographer to focus on given area.
Plus... it will make the whole diagnostic test extremely difficult and he/she might miss some subtle details simply because the baby will not lie still for even a few seconds. He/she could miss very small spinal defect.. or some anomaly in the heart, which is difficult to see anyway and increased baby activity makes it nearly impossible.

Now, here is my advise - please, I BEG YOU, do not eat the chocolate for your 18 week scan. That is difficult diagnostic procedure and you want to know that your baby is healthy at the first place, don't you? If the tech can see the gender - fine, good for you (just remember, there are many places, where it is forbidden by law to reveal gender before 24 weeks of pregnancy - example of that is Vancouver, BC in canada, but there is a lot of such places - so you MIGHT be out of luck at your 18 wk scan anyway)... but if that is not against the law where you live, just go and wait, you might get lucky,.

If that was not visible, simply find a 3D ultrasound clinic in your neighborhood, schedule appointment there at your 30wks and then eat your chocolate. Because they there do not do diagnostic procedure.. they do not need to see kidneys and heart chambers. They will use special software to render the surface of your baby face and hands and feet and gender... and you will see baby waving hands and kicking and smiling etc.. and for that you do not want baby sleeping, but awake moving around...

I am a sonographer myself with over 15 years of experience, please, do not make our life miserable by eating chocolate before 18 wk scan. Plus, it did happen, and not only once, that we could not finish the scan since the baby was simply "flying around" and she had to come again a week later. It is a trouble for everyone.

Thanks for listening to me and good luck with your pregnancy and your baby.

Johnny

I want to utilize the "2 1/2D" feature of AE (2D layers in a 3D environment) but rather than creating the images w adobe, I want to draw them myself and scan each one, then tweak individually before importing them to AE for use. Won't be working with photos, and am obviously an Adobe novice. Would I do better w PS or ILL? Thanks!

Answer
Photoshop is the best for what your needs are.

You just need to hook your printer/scanner up to the USB port of your computer and scan away.

Then all you have to do is open up Photoshop. Press File --> Open and find your scanned photo.
I can't give you a whole tutorial on how to tweak it up though so try to find some tutorials on YouTube, there's plenty out there.

How do I convert a 2d image into a 3d image that i can paint digitally?

Kevin Solt

I paint miniature models for a board game called Warhammer 40k, and I want to know if there is a program (or programs) that can allow me to upload a picture of the model, and paint it (even in a different program) so that I can try out new paint schemes without having to actually buy the paints first and put them on the model. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Well, this is a bit of a complicated task. Unless you have the money to be spending on a three-dimensional scanner, you're pretty much sunk.

If you simply want to test out colors, your best bet may be to take photos of your unpainted model (or have it painted white, if you want better results later), convert the photo to grayscale and open it in Photoshop.

Create a new layer, set it to multiply, and use the brush tool to color on top of the black and white photo of the model. This should give you a good enough indication of what the end result will look like.

How far is the automated 3-D segmentation of Brain MRI efficient compared to manual segmentation?

Sandhya

We are doing a project on automated 3-D segmentation of brain MRI using MATLAB. We would like to know the extent to which "Surf" commands are efficient in producing reliable segmented 3-D image. The accuracy level, how much it is better compared to manual segmentation. We need statistical detail, kindly help us....

Answer
This correspondence deals with the development of an
automated 3-D segmentation of Brain MRI. The proposal is a
model-based approach for accurate, robust, and automated
tissue segmentation of brain MRI data of single as well as
multiple magnetic resonance sequences. The main contribution
of this study is that we employ an edge-based geodesic active
contour for the segmentation task by integrating both image
edge geometry and voxel statistical homogeneity into a novel
hybrid geometricâstatistical feature to regularize contour
convergence and extract complex anatomical structures. We
validate the accuracy of the segmentation results on simulated
brain MRI scans of both single T1-weighted and multiple T1/
T2/PD-weighted sequences. When compared to a current stateof-
the-art region based level-set segmentation formulation,
our white matter and gray matter segmentation resulted in
significantly higher accuracy levels with a mean improvement
in Dice similarity indexes. Thus the development of the project
is done using MATLAB simulation for results.
A Hybrid Automated 3D Segmentation in Brain MRI -------------------------------------------------------- Advantages of a MRI scan
⢠MRI scanners are good at looking at the non-bony parts
or "soft tissues" of the body. In particular, the brain, spinal
cord and nerves are seen much more clearly with MRI
than with regular x-rays and CAT scans.
⢠Also, muscles, ligaments and tendons are seen quite well
so that MRI scans are commonly used to look at knees
and shoulders following injuries.
⢠A MRI scanner uses no x-rays or other radiation.
⢠A disadvantage of MRI is itâs higher cost compared to a
regular x-ray or CAT scan. Also, CAT scans are frequently
better at looking at the bones that MRI.

How are 2D cartoons animated today?

Captain Ca

I understand how 3D images are made, they generate models and send them through animations. However, how do they do 2D cartoons? I asume they don't draw each individual frame anymore. But, backgrounds that don't move do appear to be hand-drawn in some shows. How do 2D cartoons go through animations?

Answer
Depending on the budget, deadlines, technology, experience and preference that 2D animations are made one way or another.

Small budgeted shows, destined for the weekly TV slots are mostly done on Flash these days. Characters are created from simple shapes with movable body parts (mouths, hands etc.) are pasted onto individual layers and animated individually or in concert with the other parts.

The good thing about Flash is that you can position key drawings (important, story-telling character poses of say, a hand) out and the computer will fill in the in-between drawings (all the other drawings between the key drawings to smooth out the movements) automatically. So you can position the hand at one location (a key), and then program the computer to move it to another location (another key) and it will fill in all the in-between drawings by itself (timing is done by the animator). Computers are only good at moving objects around perfectly and stretching/squashing them according to preset rules so you are limited to certain expressions. Of course, complex scenes still need to be animated by hand, but to keep the cost and the time consumed down, animators don't get to do them frequently, if at all.

You can recognize these shows by the extremely smooth movements exhibited by the characters, as well as the bold and uniformed outlines and colors throughout. Backgrounds can be painted by hand, either digitally or on papers( and then scanned into the computer), or created from bodies of static shapes and colors.

Bigger, movie-length animated films use specialized softwares, either developed in-house, or bought commercially like the Toon Boom Animation program. These, however, are almost completely hand-drawn (characters-wise), since you can only create good character animation when you have a feel of the lines and forms of the characters, a thing that is quite difficult to program on a computer.

Some studios use papers and scanners, some use graphic tablets like the Wacoms to imput drawings into their computers. Some parts of a character can be animated while others are put on a different layer and remain static.

You can recognize these films by the slight jittery outlines of the character when he/she/it moves, since each line was drawn to match up with the previous drawings', though never perfectly so, no matter how hard the animators tried. The backgrounds are usually painted by hand (either digitally or manually on papers), or in 3D models that mimic a particular style or both.

Having said all that, yes, most animated shows are still drawn by hand. Some are done on papers and scanners, some are done on computers with Wacom tablets, some combine both in the production process. 2D animation is a craft, and unless computers can draw imaginatively, animators will still have their jobs, drawing them lovingly frame by frame. I hope that helped.

What's the difference between a 3D ultrasound and a 4D ultrasound?

Thank you!

Answer
3D and 4D (moving 3D pictures) scanning gives amazing three dimensional picture of your baby on the screen. Your baby can be seen moving, yawning, sucking its thumb and even apparently smiling.

The equipment uses sophisticated techniques, transforming the traditional 2D scan such as the one that you have at the hospital into a 3D and 4D images.

The scan uses the same ultrasound output levels as the hospital based 2D scanners and as the machine actually generates the image, the exposure time is minimised. The safety of ultrasound is constantly evaluated and the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) has produced documents to ensure its safe use.

With this in mind, your scan will only be performed by someone who holds a recognised medical or ultrasound qualification and who is registered with the appropriate professional bodies.

Hope this helps!! :)

How can we make , our sculpture of face by help of computer .?

Heights!

kindly tell step by step .
Sir but not like this ..

If you stick your head in a bucket of cement that should work.

Answer
I just answered the "output" part of the question for somebody else, so I just put the link to that answer down.

How you get your face into the computer is either you model it (lot of work) or you have access to a 3D laser scanner. That is fairly easy, can however still be time consuming if you want to put a number of scans together. If there is a university where you live, check out their engineering or art department if they have one. If not forget about it, unless you happen to be really rich, it's going to be more expensive than a new car.

Before you start see that you know you have access to some way to print it or get it milled. Make sure you know the requirement for the mesh and make sure you have access to the appropriate programs which generate the correct mesh.

Unless you have access to everything (e.g. you are at university and it has the equipment) it will be faster and easier and cheaper if you do body casting and make a mold of your face. How to do this has been explained in this forum many times, there are websites and books, so you should have no problems finding it out if you are serious about it.

hi! we had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago...and the technician said she thought it looked like a boy,...but ive always thought this baby was a girl...and it kinda looks like a girl to me.
i would post up my ultrasound pict, but my scanner is being stupid!
help! anyone!

Answer
You should try the 3d Scan, They will tell you that it's a boy or girl.
My wife always was on the impression that it was a girl but we found out that it was a boy.
I wished i can exchange with you the scan. I will try it.
Good luck

Whats the best driver For a 7800 GT on windows 7 64-bit?

all the drivers i could find (was about 4) just refuse to work with Call of duty 4. (i'll be getting a 2900 XT soon.) i need the best driver suited for the game, so i can play it without it dropping 30 seconds into the game, just freezing and unfreezing. It was'nt doing this last night though.

Answer
What you have described is NOT the symptom of improper driver. Nvidia has a "scanner" that will tell you the lasest supported driver, but this has nothing to do with the symptoms youre describing. The 7800GT should be able to play COD4 at moderate settings with NO problem.

What you have described is more the symptom of
1. poor memory management.
2. undercurrent to the card across the pcie buss. (if your card allows it, use the supplimental edge connector)
3 too much heat to the cpu, gpu or ramm
4 undervoltage to cpu
5. improper memory matching (speed and latency)
6 too much junk applications running in the background ( a gamer NEVER uses a P2P client. AOhell, etc on the same computer as he games on) Kill all the vampire applications, turn off unneeded devices and add more ramm.
7 adjust yout video settings. resolution/3d effects and frame rate are each a function of the other. If you lower screen resolution a little, you can get better 3d and frame rate.

You know the eff the director made in the movie 300? the color that sets the mood, not bright colors.?

I would like to do the same effect for a home made movie how do i do it? it's like a brownish grayish color

How can i make animation movie?

derj

hey guys, Can please somebody help me how can I make my own animation movie.

Answer
There's some ways to approach this:
you can download either Monkey Jam for 2D animations (http://www.giantscreamingrobotmonkeys.com/monkeyjam/)
or
Blender for 3D animations (http://www.blender.org)
both free and easy to find.
There are others but these are the pick of the free litter.

**If you like to animate and would want to continue, you should invest in a Wacom Tablet (at least 6" x 8").

Or if you want to go old school...
1. You can also buy paper (print paper easiest to find)
2. Draw it frame by frame
3. Scan them into a computer or record them with a camera then recording that onto the VHS (If you use a camera, then stop here).
4. Import the scans into QuickTime as a sequence
5. Then export it as a QuickTime movie
6. Import the movie into iMovie or Windows Movie Maker 7. For sounds (www.sounddogs.com).
8. Export the movie as a another QuickTime movie

**These may not be the best things to use, but it can get the job done.

**Doing it old school would require
-Field Guide (You can draw one yourself): How much space your animation will take and make sure not to exceed that space

-Light Box $40: Drawing it frame by frame with this box will keep your animations from going out of proportion.

-Peg Bar $3: Place it taped onto the light box. Keeping your animations from moving all over the place unintentionally. If you are going to scan them onto the computer, then I suggest you place the peg bar TAPED onto the scanner.

Do I have to pre-order online, or can I just pre-order from the store?

Answer
Easiest way to find out for sure is to ask the physical store, and if they say no, just pre-order online.

However, I've been told that you can essentially cheat the system by printing off scanned copies of the AR cards, if you can get the right colours. The AR scanner just looks for a particular colour pattern.

If you want to test it out, find a decent image of an AR marker that comes with the 3DS, print it off, and see if you can use it for those Nintendo character photo things.

What animal has the strongest bite in the world?

They said on Dirty Jobs that the alligator turtle has the 2nd strongest bite in the world, but what has the strongest bite?
Ali gators and Crocodiles have a very strong bite, so do Hippos. But is it one of those animals or is there something with a stronger bite?

Answer
GREAT white sharks really do have the meanest jaws on the planet, say experts.
The fierce ocean predators have a bite force of about 1.8 tonnes - that's 20 times more powerful than humans.
Even a large African lion, with a bite force of 560g, can't compare with the shark's massive mouth.
Scientists used the latest X-ray and scanner technology for their research.
The team at the University of New South Wales made 3D models of the skull of an 8ft male great white using images from a CT scanner.
They digitally "crash tested" their computer model to simulate different scenarios and reveal the powerful bite of the fearsome predator.
The experts also worked out the complex distributions of stresses and strains that these forces impose on the shark's jaws.
But even the great white seems small fry when compared with the carcharodon megalodon. Dubbed Big Tooth, it was a prehistoric shark that was 53ft long and had a bite of around 18 tonnes.
It hunted large whales by biting off their tail and flippers before feeding at will.
By comparison, T-Rex could only manage a bite force of around 3.1 tonnes.
Steve Wroe, the study's lead author, said: "Pound for pound, the great white's bite is not particularly impressive but the sheer size of the animal means that it tops the scales.
"It must also be remembered that its extremely sharp serrated teeth require relatively little force to drive them through thick skin, fat and muscle.
"Nature has endowed this carnivore with more than enough bite force to kill and eat large and potentially dangerous prey."
Great whites can grow to about 20 feet in length and live for 30-40 years.

Hope it helps you!

3D modeling software of human body. Does anyone know which software is used for this?

curious

I work on AutoCAd and I want to move into the medical field. I have heard that 3D modeling is used for diagnosis, line of treatment and also for simulation of elective surgery. How do I get more info on this so I can move into that field? Thanks

Answer
well, you could use a lot of softwares like Maya and 3Dsmax to create stunning 3D models of any kind.
In the medical filed, 3D visualization using these softwares are done extensively for educational purposes.

But for diagmnostics and treatment, machines and its in-built softwares does the the 3D job. these machines have 3D scanners which automaticly creates 3D models of any scanned surfaces on the fly.

What specs and features would make it a good phone to buy for you to want to buy?
Here's a few features/specs rumours I've heard of:

1. 32, 64, 128 GB models.
2. 4 inch ultra retina display, 1920x1080p resolution, 550 ppi, IGZO display for 90% less power consuming for better battery, flexible display for shatterproof and scratch proof screen, and POSSIBLY 3D display capabilities I've heard.
3. A7 quad core processor, 64 bit, 2 GB of ram, quad core graphics chip, less power consuming.
4. 13 megapixel rear camera, F 2.0 OR F 1.8 lens, improved crystal cover, 8X digital zoom, dual LED smart flash, digital noise reducer filter, 2K video recording, 3D photos and videos (if it has a 3D display)
5. 2 megapixel front camera, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, 3D FaceTime camera.
6. Bigger battery, 1600-1800 mAH.
7. Fingerprint scanner for security, NFC, eye tracking software.
8. iOS 7

Is these rumours I've read are true then I would buy this guaranteed. I know several people who would if these were the features. What do you think?

What can I use to cast a mold from stone without hurting the stone?

3d scanner structured light

3d scanner structured light image

disciple

I'm new to this, but does anyone know what medium I would use to make a mold from a stone. In other words, There is an old building with a beautiful design sculpted in to it. I want to copy this design. I know there is a material out there that I can press against the original design and make a mold of it and then cast the design in plaster. I just don't know what material I would use to do this without hurting the stone.... Help!!!

Answer
I think the sculpey or any clay will work. If you use normal clay, any residue left will dissolve in the next rain, just don't use brown clay on light stone... if you use water based clay you would have to cast your plaster into the mold while the clay is still wet.
As the clay won't be very stable just on its own, you should consider making a mother mold on top of that. That is a hard shell, which just gives support to the soft part of your mold so it doesn't deform. It depends on the size of what you want to copy if you need it. You could make the mothermold from plaster bandages, but don't put plaster directly on the stone.
Before you start, consider carefully the shape of what you want to copy and where undercuts are and where you have to put in parting lines. What technique you use for mold making really depends on the exact shape of what you want to copy. If the structure is something complicated, you may want to practice how to make molds from more simple structures first so you are aware what causes problems and get some experience in how to solve them.

Another completely contact free method is if you happen to be at a university where they have a 3D laser scanning camera you can borrow, you could use the 3D laser scanner then make a model of your structure in the computer from the scans. That you could print out using a 3D printer. that way you can scale the model to any size (though anything large will be expensive to print)

what are some reverse engineering techniques?

Kevin7

Answer
Reverse engineering of machines
As computer-aided design (CAD) has become more popular, reverse engineering has become a viable method to create a 3D virtual model of an existing physical part for use in 3D CAD, CAM, CAE or other software. The reverse-engineering process involves measuring an object and then reconstructing it as a 3D model. The physical object can be measured using 3D scanning technologies like CMMs, laser scanners, structured light digitizers or computed tomography. The measured data alone, usually represented as a point cloud, lacks topological information and is therefore often processed and modeled into a more usable format such as a triangular-faced mesh, a set of NURBS surfaces or a CAD model.
Reverse engineering is also used by businesses to bring existing physical geometry into digital product development environments, to make a digital 3D record of their own products or to assess competitors' products. It is used to analyse, for instance, how a product works, what it does, and what components it consists of, estimate costs, and identify potential patent infringement, etc. Value engineering is a related activity also used by businesses. It involves de-constructing and analysing products, but the objective is to find opportunities for cost cutting.

Reverse engineering of software
The three main groups of software reverse engineering are
1. Analysis through observation of information exchange, most prevalent in protocol reverse engineering, which involves using bus analyzers and packet sniffers, for example, for accessing a computer bus or computer network connection and revealing the traffic data thereon. Bus or network behaviour can then be analyzed to produce a stand-alone implementation that mimics that behaviour. This is especially useful for reverse engineering device drivers. Sometimes, reverse engineering on embedded systems is greatly assisted by tools deliberately introduced by the manufacturer, such as JTAG ports or other debugging means. In Microsoft Windows, low-level debuggers such as SoftICE are popular.
2. Disassembly using a disassembler, meaning the raw machine language of the program is read and understood in its own terms, only with the aid of machine-language mnemonics. This works on any computer program but can take quite some time, especially for someone not used to machine code. The Interactive Disassembler is a particularly popular tool.
3. Decompilation using a decompiler, a process that tries, with varying results, to recreate the source code in some high-level language for a program only available in machine code or bytecode.

Reverse engineering of integrated circuits/smart cards
Reverse engineering is an invasive and destructive form of analyzing a smart card. The attacker grinds away layer by layer of the smart card and takes pictures with an electron microscope. With this technique, it is possible to reveal the complete hardware and software part of the smart card. The major problem for the attacker is to bring everything into the right order to find out how everything works. Engineers try to hide keys and operations by mixing up memory positions, for example, busscrambling. In some cases, it is even possible to attach a probe to measure voltages while the smart card is still operational. Engineers employ sensors to detect and prevent this attack. This attack is not very common because it requires a large investment in effort and special equipment that is generally only available to large chip manufacturers. Furthermore, the payoff from this attack is low since other security techniques are often employed such as shadow accounts.

Show Question?

seangriffe

Would you watch a show like this:

It's called ENTER THE MATRIX.

It's about a person who discovers a gigantic supercomputer in New York, under an abandoned mansion. In the supercomputer, he found a virtual world of New York, the whole entire thing.

In the virtual world, are entities called Agents who are trying to get into the real world for some evil or cruel purpose.

The person then call down 5 friends and tell them about this discovery. And now they are going to stop the Agent's plan by putting them in a scanner and send their minds into the virtual world.

In the real world, everything is filmed in live action and in the virtual world, it's all 3D.

And they have weapons like: Sais, Samurai Swords, Guns, Hand to Hand combat?

Would you watch this show?
Man, that's it?

Answer
No, but my husband probably would.
